The first Soester Rogge Genever launched

On Friday 11 October 2024, the first genuine Soester Rogge Genever was presented at Slijterij van der Linden.

The first bottle was handed over to farmer Pieter Kuijer, who sowed and harvested the organically grown rye on the Soester Eng. As a surprise, the distillers of Stokerij Soestdijk received smoked sausages from farmer Pieter, made from pigs that were fed with the grain left over after the distillation process. This is a wonderful example of a short food chain.

The genever was well received and is available in limited quantities. For next year, a larger portion of the rye harvest is being reserved for a new batch of Soester Rogge Genever.
